Simonm77 Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Good evening and happy new year to you all. i want to change the location of the 7 on the nose cone. It is currently behind the mesh but i would like it in front. Is this possible or do i need to buy a different mesh. 1
GaryK Posted January 5 Posted January 5 I did mine before Christmas and it was just a case of removing two restraining clips, swapping the two pieces around and putting the clips back. Took 5 minnites 😁 Mine is a 1996 car so I am not sure if the newer cars are different. Gary 3

Yes it was simple. take the nose cone off and you will see two retaining clips. Remove the clips. They are quite hard to take off. swap the two parts around and replace the clips. Done. 1
Graham Hutton Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Just been to do mine (2021 car) and the 7 logo is stuck to the mesh across the whole area. Dammit! 1

Andypscutt Posted January 7 Posted January 7 What paint do you guys use for this , touch up Bottle / spray can ?? cheers
supersport_140 Posted January 7 Posted January 7 (edited) I used Nitromors spray. I am not sure how it will hold up long term, but after 6 months it still looks fine. There are possibly better options, but this was one the shelf in the local Halfords. https://www.halfords.com/motoring/paints-and-body-repair/specialist-and-decorative-paints/nitromors-smooth-finish-metal-paint-black-500ml-767878.html Edited January 7 by supersport_140 Shorter url 1

My mesh part was bent more than it should though so I'll need to bend it back a little I think as seen below. 1
Ainsley Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Looks good, so when are we all going to see the car in the flesh then ?

Brownmonster Posted January 7 Posted January 7 (edited) There is also one huge benefit from doing this, I can now clean the 7 badge properly. The photo above shows how dirty it was AFTER I had washed the car, showing how much actually got missed. It was only a matter of time before the white 7 was juts a dull brown muddy 7. This one is now squeaky clean and easy to keep that way. There are a few more photos of the job here: https://www.caterham420rbuild.co.uk/post/98-upgrade-front-mesh-swap Edited January 7 by Brownmonster 1

I think I started something here! I think they all look much better with the ‘7’ more visible
