italjob7 Posted November 27 Posted November 27 I bought a set of Bilstein front dampers. The upper and lower eyelets are quite a bit wider than the mount on the chassis (36mm instead of 32mm). Any suggestion?
aerobod - near CYYC Posted November 27 Posted November 27 The wide-track chassis uses that size of bush. It needs to be swapped for this 32mm bush for a live axle car: https://shop.oakmeremotorgroup.co.uk/product/bush-damper-eyelet-rubber-bilstein-32mm-wide (Caterham also list it https://caterhamparts.co.uk/dampers/1527-rubber-bush-damper-eyelet-bilstein-32mm-wide.html, but have no stock at the moment). You push out the metal core first, then the bush. The 36mm core will need to be turned down to 32mm long and if you have an 8mm or 5/16” bolt, this sleeve will need to be fitted: https://caterhamparts.co.uk/dampers/779-sleeve-lower-front-damper-eye-bilstein.html
italjob7 Posted November 28 Author Posted November 28 Thanks. Rather than turning down the original sleeve, do you know if the sleeve can be ordered?

I can’t see it on the Caterham site, but Redline may be worth a call (https://redlinecomponents.co.uk/contact-us/), they also have the 32mm bush: https://redlinecomponents.co.uk/product/bush-bilstein-damper-eyelet-rubber/ 1
