Gridgway
In my interest to fit seats rather than a bench seat in my short cockpit car, the seats of that era have runners with the ends bent in an L section to bolt to the lateral cross tubes. In my short cockpit car (possibly all short cockpit cars) there is no rear cross tube in sight. I assume there must be one, but the rear panel behind the seats is actually double skinned with the chassis tubes in between the two skins out of sight. Does anyone know what is going on in there or have a chassis drawing showing such detail?
Jonathan Kay
Have you got the appropriate Assembly Guide? And a copy of Weale? If not I'll have a look when I get home tomorrow. Jonathan
OldAndrewE
Graham, there is no transverse tube behind the seats of a short cockpit, live axle S3. The rear bulkhead is single skin (continuation of the floor). I will dig out some photos of mine taken during strip down before sending to Arch Edited May 5 by OldAndrewE Photos added
Gridgway
Thanks, that's a conclusive photo! Did the short cockpit car only have bench seats then, I wonder?
