Jetto
I’m looking to buy a new Radtec radiator for my recent Duratec converted car. I’m looking at a 60mm core rad with larger 11” fan. The fan switch offered on this by Radtec is an 86-76 temp range however this seems low to me? Elsewhere on their website they also offer switches with ranges 82-88, 88-74 and 92-82. Opinions sought for fan switch choice please…
Jonathan Kay
Is it currently in use? Road or track? And if so what is the water temperature doing in various conditions? Previous discussions. Jonathan
Support Team Shaun_E Posted March 25 Support Team Share Posted March 25 What thermostat are you using? Most Duratec cars use an 82 deg thermostat and if that's the case on yours, your fan would still be on when the thermostat is closed so definitely too low a range. I can't remember exactly what temp my fan comes on (it's controlled by the ECU) but it's mid/high 90s. My car, as with many Duratecs, is overcooled when ambient temps are low.
