Hi Everyone. This has been months in the making, but here is my PCR Hoodie Challenge. It's a fun challenge to make some money for the Club's charity Prostate Cancer Research and a chance to win some prizes. Also by entering you will be sent a 10% discount code for Just Add Lightness which is valid until 31/10/2022.

Here is a link to my video explaining the PCR Hoodie Challenge:

Thanks Stephen

I wish I had a 10% discount code when I bought all of the products I have from Just Add Lightness I would have saved a lot.

All you have to do to get the 10% discount code for JAL (that is only valid until 31st October 2022), is to donate to my Just Giving page.

I would have loved the chance to win a Bluetooth PRO-COM Headset worth £448.00!!!

I fitted new stickers yesterday all round Fern and I've also had these made to make donating easier. I will make a video this weekend to show them properly and show my mistakes/problems I've now made myself. Maybe a chance to buy/review some more Ultimate Carbon parts when funds allow.

Hi

I wanted to update you all on the PCR Hoodie Challenge.

Firstly thank you to John Martin for entering as well as the others that have entered so far.

Unfortunately the challenge hasn't been as popular as I thought it would be, so the challenge has changed to just be for half hood entries and I've also extended the date for entries to be in to 31st October 2022(I will announce the winners by 30th November 2022).

There are more details how to enter on my just giving page

It would be great if you could enter the challenge. If you don't want to enter, don't forget that by donating to my just giving page you will get a 10% discount code for Just Add Lightness which ends 31st October 2022.

Here is a

which I have received. I hope it puts a smile on your face.

Thanks

James

Oh sorry to disapoint.

I'm new to making videos and thought this was a good idea to make some money for the clubs charity. I probably should have put in some terms and conditions that x amount of entries needed to be in for the challenge to go ahead. I will put this down to lack of experience.

Please still enter if you would like to but there won't be a full hood competition now, it's now just for half hoods. The challenge is really fun to do and if there are a decent amount of entries in, there will be some other small prizes up for grabs. It all depends how popular it is. Hopefully by extending the date for videos to be in this will help.

I've had some more entries sent to me over the weekend which is great, but all have been half hoods, so nothing has changed for the entries I already have.

I would advise to get a half hood they are brilliant.

Thanks

James

Hi there

We are going to be doing the PCR Hoodie challenge at the Caterham and Lotus 7 Club London Concours this Saturday at the Hare and Hounds Osterley TW75PR, arrive at ten for judging at 11.00. In addition to the great prize that James has on offer (the Just Add Lightness Pro Com Bluetooth Headset), the winner with the fastest time on Saturday will be given a bottle of (apparently very expensive) whisky from that well known whisky making country ... Corsica.. the runner up gets a bottle of pink champagne and the slowest gets a nice bottle of red wine. The concours is being judged by club legends and marque experts Ruth and James Whiting. Best car in class gets a very nice trophy (to keep), runner up gets a huge box of beer from Fullers, third gets a voucher worth £50 for a brewery tour for two (Fuller's brewery in Chiswick) led by club member Colin Ford) and there is a mystery prize for the scruffiest seven- plus £50 of vouchers for the winner to spend on club merchandise and £25 each for the second and third prizes - it is free to enter but like James we are raising money for the club charity - two of us are running the London  Marathon on October 2 for PCR   www.justgiving.com/team/CaterhamLotus7Club so it would be great if you could put a bit of money on Jame's site and some on ours! we are not sure how many cars will turn up on Saturday so if you would like  reserve a space e-mail me at londonmiddlesex@caterhamlotus7.club  and ideally include a short description of your car together with the registration-- hope to see you Saturday ... Geoff

We did the PCR Hoodie challenge at the London Concours on Saturday- great fun and useful as well

The winner of the fastest half hood challenge on the day was Gary Jacobs in his 2001 K Series road sport. He won a £50 voucher for a brewery tour of the Griffin Brewery in Chiswick. Having discovered he had three water leaks and a non-operational fan he also had his car repaired by James Whiting and Bob Baker so a good day all round for Gary and he gets the chance to win the Bluetooth headset.....

IMG_2048.thumb.jpeg.9120cb983f1cffd42e13ae40a3df1cbd.jpeg James thanks for organising such a great challenge.

I have to admit that I thought putting the half hood on under a minute would be a doddle. Some goes later I changed my mind. Eventually I think I did it but the camera operator missed the start......... to avoid a divorce I calmly suggested another go.

Fabulous fun challenge for a great cause and I am now confident that I will just get wet not soaked when I next get caught in the rain.

Thank you for the donations so far and for the entries.

If you are thinking about entering please do it really is a lot of fun.

The PCR Hoodie Challenge came about because Jason says I'm slow at putting my half hood on. We have to have a race to see who is fastest then don't we? To make it more interesting we had a side bet of the camping fees for the night.

Here is a link to the

and here is a link to my Just Giving Page which has details on how to enter. Please donate if you like the videos, but don't want to enter.

Thanks

James

Hi Everyone

Just a reminder that the end date of the PCR Hoodie Challenge is 31st October 2022 so not long left to enter.

I would like to say a big thank you for all of the donations on my Just Giving Page and to all of the entries so far.

The total raised for the clubs charity Prostate Cancer Research (PCR) so far is £965.00 which is brilliant and very close to my £1,000.00 target.

All of the details on how to enter are on my Just Giving Page and don't forget by donating you get a 10% discount code(valid until 31/10/2022) for Just Add Lightness who is the sponsor for the challenge. I would like to say a big thank you to JAL for sponsoring the challenge and if you are thinking about buying some products from JAL then maybe now is the time with the 10% discount code? I've used it to buy another 3rd level break light which I've made a video on

.

Also the winner of the challenge will get a Bluetooth Pro-Com Headset worth £448.00!!! which I personally own and is a great addition to any Caterham. There will also be some small prizes given to the funniest video and things like that due to the great total raised so far.

Don't forget to keep an eye on my YouTube channel ACaterhamCalledFern where I will announce the winner and there will be a compilation video of a few clips of the challenge. If you would like to subscribe then you will see when new videos come out and it would really help me out.

I know a few people are unsure if to do the challenge and as you can see from the comments above everyone has enjoyed doing the challenge even if they were unsure. Plus it's good practice for when it does rain when you are out and about.

Thanks

James

Brilliant work James - some really funny submissions there.  Always surprised by how imaginative members can be.  And thanks, also, to Mo for her dogged support of your initiative.  More than £1000 raised - well done!!
