Edmundo2
Hi. I'm in the process of making some cosmetic improvements poss including renewing my carbon dash..However I've noticed my rocker switches are very faded/grey so figure it's worth trying to tart them up if possible..? Has anyone tried this or have any tips or is the only option to replace, ( dont really want to spend £100 on switches just for aesthetics)? Thanks,EdPS. If anyone has a nice new set they dont need please get in touch!
Jonathan Kay
You could try the relevant Autoglym stuff or similar. I'm surprised how long the silicone residue can keep things shiny.Jonathan
Benton
Maybe worth a punt trying some of the "back to black" trim restorer usually normally used for restoring exterior trim?

Leadership Team Toughie Posted February 8, 2022 Leadership Team Share Posted February 8, 2022 #3, Jonathan,I've tried the Autoglym Vinyl & Rubber cleaner. The finish was surprisingly good and brightened me up as well as the switches. But I've found that it never seems to dry fully. When I give it a rub over some time later there's still a residue that comes off, and still being 'greasy' I find that dust sticks to it.

Jonathan Kay
There are several similar switches... how about comparing the products? The appearance could even be assessed single-blinded. Or double-blinded if you could get someone else to do the application...: - )JonathanPS: As with coffee, engine coolant, audio systems...
oilyhands
Armour all is effective but short lived, Gtechniq ceramic permanent trim restorer is excellent and pretty much permanent.Oily
Andy Doughty
Vaseline ! Paint it on with a small modeling paint brush and leave a couple of days.wipe off the surplus and it normally lasts all season.I guess it must be the petroleum that re generates the plastic

Hope it does the job..Cheers

I use this http://Meguiar's G15812EU Ultimate Black Plastic Restorer Trim Restorer 355mlfound it to last very well, greater than 18 months with the switches not going back to grey at that time just not quite as black when applied.
