Beagler
I notice there is a rubber flexible brake hose at the rear. Would like to replace with a braided hose, Anyone done this and where do I get one.
Wrightpayne
I've never seen rubber brake hoses on a seven. Fuel hose yes.
Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted December 20, 2021 Leadership Team Share Posted December 20, 2021 IIRC there's one at the rear Ian to allow for the dedion tube movement.Rather than just replacing one hose it's better to change the complete rear assembly for braided hoses to enable the rear calipers to move more freely than they do with the solid line.Stu. Nigel B
Have you looked closely at the hose in question? The chassis to dedion hose on my 2017 car looked like a rubber hose from a distance, but on closer examination, turned out to be a braided hose, with a rubber hose cable tied around it! I believe it's an IVA requirement. It confused me for a while! The hose from the clutch fluid reservoir was the same.
Wrightpayne
Stu,I know there is one at the rear, several on mine as I too converted the rigid pipes to aeroquip.I'd just never seen a 'tintop' style rubber flexible brake hose on a seven, only ever stainless braided hoses. The rubber sleeve now makes sense! Ian
Area Representative Geoff Brown Posted December 21, 2021 Area Representative Share Posted December 21, 2021 Rear brake hose is braided cunningly disguised with IVA split rubber hose after a certain date - 1999/2000 ? Any other 'hose' is for fuel.
