Fellow covered Minno owners can anyone help please?

Having refurbished a 20 year old trailer over winter with new axles, tow hitch etc.

First use this year has flagged up an issue keeping the rear clamshell hatch closed.

I replaced the T handle.
Even with this locked the rods to either side do not seem to locate far enough
into the locating pegs that when the trailer flexes in transit the rods
pop out of the recess allowing the door to open (not fully just loose).

Even with the new T handle there seems to be quite a bit of 'play' in the
handle pivot mechanism is a replacement available?

I have two rubber stretch bonnet stays doing nothing in the garage so am thinking
these may be a secondary method of holding the door closed but open to further suggestions.

Thanks in anticipation.

Hi Steve,

Maybe replace the locking rods?  You can get them from Brian James in Daventry.  You will have t cut them down but at least it means you can have them a touch longer if you wish.

Also be careful to position your car in the middle of the trailer to allow for the cover to sway and avoid rubbing on the rear wings

Nick hi.

Great thought. I've been in touch with Mick at BJ. He's looking to see if they have replacement rods.

The biggest 'play' seems to be in the centre pivot it would be useful to replace/re-furb that if it's possible.

I'm also looking to see if there are replacements for the plastic locating blocks but not joy yet.

Fortunately the rear shell doesn't wobble far enough to scratch the rear wings but fair point re positioning.

Looking forward to any other Minno owners swapping notes.

Safe 7ing!
