Horn contactor

I have had some bad surprises with the push button of the horn in the center of my Motolita wheel. Did not work leaving me with these big trucks not being aware of the presence of my Seven.

Any tip to improve, or should I move to the dash mounted push button?

Try taking the center cap off and prising the copper contact up a little - if you get it right, not too far, it should work every time.

When I first got my Seven the horn only worked if the steering wheel was turned to the left of centre; not useful!

 

The answer was that the contact 'pencil' was only just touching the slip ring on the dash.

 

Solution:- Remove the S/wheel. Push out the pencil contact and make a small spacer to move it further 'out'.I used a small piece of scrap plastic tube that just slid on. Washers would do the same; 4mm was adequate. Reinstal s/wheel & voila; noise at any point of the compass!!!

you should try a rattle. No electrical poor contacts issues anymore.
