Drumster
Idle thoughts on a wet lunchtime.Does a change of gear ratios necessitate a remap for maximum performance. eg car was mapped by Dave Walker after the TB conversion on the standard ratio'd type 9 5 speed box. I have since changed to the Tracsport gearset where 1st, 2nd and 5th are different.Thoughts anyone?
7 wonders of the world
no as the engine has not changed, only the ratiosPeak torque and power are still the same, these will just occur at different road speeds. You may find an odd tweek on light throttle is required but its pretty unlikely as Dave check this area in 2 or 3 different gears fro driveability.Did you go for the 2.29 first ? Jonathan Kay
Probably not, unless the power curve is particularly peaky or optimised in some specific way, or the road conditions or uses produce specific requirements such as power for a particular corner or sequence of corners, or for flat-out maximum, or a particular cruising speed, or drag racing. What do you use it for, and what have you noticed since the changes?Jonathan
Drumster
7WOTW, that makes sense ta. I've had the Tracsport gearset since December 2015 and yes it has the 2.29 1st.JK, car is used for everything from blatting to touring to sprinting/hillclimbing. Changes? Well, I don't need 2nd till until I'm on the motorway
