patibbitts
When the carrying out the replacement of the recommended upgraded oil ladder to a K Series, is it necessary to seal around the oil ways before fitting it to the bottom of the block, if so what sealant is prescribed? revilla
A very thin film of anaerobic flange sealant. I use Loctite 574. Just run a fine bead around the holes and the spread to a thin film (officially with a roller or brush - a clean finger will do!). Make sure you've got all traces of the old sealant off the bottom of the crank ladder too. You can use fine Scotch Brite or Acetone on a cloth can work well. patibbitts
Great reply thanks. Thought that might be the case. Although most/all the YouTube videos on the subject (by Moss and Rimmers, etc,) don't mention using it. Much appreciated.
