I wanted to have a go at making one up with a bike inner cable on the bench rather than having to do it in the dark at the roadside!

I guess a reasonably priced new one would do and I'll butcher my old one!

I did look at the advert but dismissed it due to being for a VX / ford.

Just checked the parts website and the VX and rover ones are different. A new rover one is £50 hence the bike cable option being explored!

Hi,

As you have seen I am advertising throttle and clutch cables on Blatchat. The Ad stated these were from an HPC or Crossflow. One or more of these may actually by for a K Series, as I had a Supersport a few years ago, and the cables were from the depths of the garage, so I'm not quite sure what they do actually fit.

If you send me your EMail address I can send you some pics of the cables and you can see if they would be of any use to you.

Regards,

Ian

Has your existing outer got damaged ? I carry the bike gear cable as spare ... with a loose screw nipple to fit at the pedal end once threaded through the outer cable. I don't see any advantage in having it pre-assembled as the outer doesn't get damaged and you simply slide the new inner through when the old inner has snapped.

Original cable OK but on the extreme of adjustment (as its always been) - just fancied making up a spare. I've always carried a spare bike cable in the car and cable pinch bolt.
