revilla Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 Does anyone have, or know where I might be able to get a door catch escutcheon plate of the type shown below? The latest ones from CC are quite different. Already tried Redline and they only have the newer style. Thanks, Andrew
Area Representative Paul Richards Posted September 16, 2017 Area Representative Posted September 16, 2017 I think I had these originally but changed to later ones which were much better as they protect the rubber trim from damage by the male portion. Can you not change both sides to the later type?
revilla Posted September 16, 2017 Author Posted September 16, 2017 Possibly ... How do the later ones attach?
Area Representative Paul Richards Posted September 16, 2017 Area Representative Posted September 16, 2017 I can't honestly remember how they attach. They go between the rubber trim and the sill guard and then loop over the top of the rubber. I think they fit using rivets in the same holes as the self tappers in your picture. The plate is then bent over to cover the rivets. Certainly no hint of the previous fixing on show Hole is in exactly the same place Hope you can understand.
revilla Posted September 16, 2017 Author Posted September 16, 2017 Yes makes sense. May well be the way to go. Thanks for the info.
