Comp Sec Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 Please see the following championship scores 2017 Championship - 10.pdfI've been asked by a few people today to update with how the championship stands and how the Curborough Tie breaks work.Under the regulations this year, Each Class Championship is scored on the best of 7 rounds, in the event of a Tie, this is extended to best of 8 rounds, giving a maximum of 800 points, if two competitors in a class have 800 points then the class will be declared a tie.The overall champion works similar but in the event of competitors tieing at 800 then we calculated cumulative scores for each competitor based on there performance at Curborough against the class records.Class 1At present no competitor has completed 7 rounds, the top 7 runners could at present all win the class (Clive Marsden, Richard Abraham, John Clarke, Ivan Pullen, Paul Boston, Simon Houghton, Rebecca Boston), but there are only 3 competitors who could actually achieve 8 wins, their Curborough Tie Break is shown in brackets Clive Marsden (200.08), Richard Abraham (198.26) & Paul Boston (198.84)Class 2At Present 5 competitors have completed 7 rounds, however based on the scores to date 5 competitors could still win the class (Robert Jacobs, Paul Collins, Graham Howard, Chris Bramall, Ian Jones), but only 2 could achieve 8 wins, their Curborough Tie Break is shown in brackets., Robert Jacobs (195.90) and Paul Collins (194.74)Class 3At Present 4 competitors have completed 7 rounds, however based on the scores to date 2 competitors could still win the Class, and both could still achieve 8 wins, Dan Malkin (200.88) and Richard Price (198.87)Class 4At present No competitors has completed 7 rounds, however based on the scores to date 2 competitors could win the class but only 1 has the potential of scoring 8 wins, Jeremy Davies (201.42)Class 5At present no competitors has completed 7 rounds, however based on the scores to date 1 competitors could win and achieve 8 wins, John Caldicott ( 100.62)Class 6At present 4 competitors have completed 7 rounds, however based on the scores to date 3 competitors could win . Shaun Elwell, Mark Durrant, Michael Sankey, but only two competitors have the potential of 8 wins, Shaun Elwell (194.21) and Mark Durrant (199.77)Class 7At present no competitors have completed 7 rounds, however based on the scores to date 4 competitors have the potential to win, Simon Rogers, Robert Margel, Simon Harrison-Moore and Simon Jenks. However Only Simon Rogers has the potential to achieve 8 wins (198.72)Novice Simon Houghton is leading but with 5 rounds to go it's still open to anyone.Ladies Rebecca Boston is leading, but with 5 rounds to go it is open to anyone,Edward LewisOnly 2 eligible rounds left to go, with Wiscombe and the finally at Anglesey on the International circuit. At present Chris Bramall is leading (Yes I know i'm talking about myself in the 3rd Person !!!) ,but Tony Smith, Philip Matchwick and Simon Rogers could also win the Cup.Overall Winner.Still too early to call, but at present assuming that it does go to a 8 win tie, there are 11 in the running.
Tony Smith Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 Thanks for this Chris,Another fantastic weekend.Looking at the handbook I have a NTR for Wiscombe although i was there last year and drove very very slowly!!!!!Tony
Comp Sec Posted August 28, 2017 Author Posted August 28, 2017 Hi Tony,I've got you down as 50.13 for Wiscombe, so not sure why it's showed NTR in the book.Chris.
Tony Smith Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 Thanks Chris,I was just worried I may miss out on some Edward Lewis points!!Not that I am at all competitive
Simon.Rogers Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 I have made some "HUGE" assumptions here but assuming many things including who I know is or is not going to the final events. This is how I see the overall standings with 8 wins for all.+/- % against Curbs Records. Clive 0.07 Rob -4.22 Dan 0.87 Jem 1.41 Shaun -6.14 Simon -1.36
Comp Sec Posted August 29, 2017 Author Posted August 29, 2017 Simon, The figures i'm using as the official values are included in Brackets in the first post....
Comp Sec Posted August 29, 2017 Author Posted August 29, 2017 So all the following have the potential of scoring 800 points if they enter the final rounds. Clive Marsden (200.08) - Class 1Richard Abraham (198.26) - Class 1Paul Boston (198.84) - Class 1Robert Jacobs (195.90) - Class 2Paul Collins (194.74) - Class 2Dan Malkin (200.88) - Class 3Richard Price (198.87) - Class 3Jeremy Davies (201.42) - Class 4John Caldicott ( 100.62) - Class 5Shaun Elwell (194.21) - Class 6Mark Durrant (199.77) - Class 6Simon Rogers (198.72) - Class 7 As each round concludes i'll try and do a similar roundup of whos left.
Simon.Rogers Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 Sorry Chris - wondered what they were for. Only had the small numbers in my mind.I can see it now.
Comp Sec Posted August 29, 2017 Author Posted August 29, 2017 not a problem, the figures are already automatically calculated so it was just a case of working through the pages.
Area Representative Richard Price Posted August 29, 2017 Area Representative Posted August 29, 2017 Chris,I can't get eight wins this year.I only have two class wins so far, and with only 3 sisters, Wiscombe, Blyton, and two at Anglesey, I can only achieve 7 wins. However, I'm definitely not doing Blyton, so the best I could hope for is six wins (but my chances of catching Dan are very slim to say the least)
Mark Durrant Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 ChrisMy next event is Wisombe which will be my last for this season so I cannot catch Shaun.
Comp Sec Posted August 29, 2017 Author Posted August 29, 2017 Cheers Richard, you are correct.Mark, Thanks for the confirmation, if you are only doing Wiscome the only competitor in Class 6 who could catch Shaun, if he won all the remaining events is Michael Sankey.
