1646958 Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 Is there any real advantages to be gained by removing the Cat on a duretech.
sjl1 Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 I was recently advised by a respected engine builder that for a 310 sigma this was definitely a worthwhile upgrade seeing 10bhp improvements in midrange performance. I have ordered one and will report back
John Vine Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 I removed the cat from my R400D some years ago, but this was to avoid damage while suffering from a bout of misfiring, rather than to improve performance. The only real difference I've noticed is a more pronounced rasp in the exhaust note.JV
mikeo996 Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 Difference in sound is night and day, but some have actually found a drop in bhp without.
sjl1 Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 My 310r bypass pipe has arrived and i am looking forward to hearing how much noisier it makes the car.Am also planning to get it rolling roaded to compare the difference, hoping for improved midrange
