Garry Talbot Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 Opinions please from anyone who uses one. I saw a couple of cars fitted with these at Donnington celebrations but no drivers present. I'm contemplating replacing my existing QR momo wheel with one. I'm a pretty hefty chap 6'1" and wonder if they make life any easier?
Jonathan Kay Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 There are some experiences and opinions in the archives, including legality for use on the road and in competition.Jonathan
Wrightpayne Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 A lowered floor greatly improved cabin comfort for me - primary reason was to get me below the roll bar for track days. I'm 6'2".Ian
Garry Talbot Posted August 7, 2017 Author Posted August 7, 2017 Cheers Jonathan, I'd looked through the archives and read the relevant bits, I know the wheel is legal etc and just wanted some practical opinion from users of the D shaped wheels , are they a worthwhile improvement in addition to/instead of lowered floors.
Garry Talbot Posted August 7, 2017 Author Posted August 7, 2017 Cheers Ian, I am contemplating lowered floors but obviously that takes the car out of play for a while as I wouldn't do them myself so would need to farm that job out. I was just wondering if those using the D wheels found the extra few mm : a) worthwhile and b) easy to adapt to.

ScottR400D Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 I use a Momo 29, 270mm which has flats at the top and bottom. I sit quite low and couldn't see the shift lights with a round wheel. I have a model 26 280mm and the 29 definitely helps getting in and out and with leg room.
