SPC, Quaife or what ?

Time has come to have some money in spare for the long awaited straight-cut-5speed-box.

Where would you buy yours ? Directly from Quaife or (for example) from SPC-components? I know Steve receives most of the parts from Quaife so maybe it would be little more expensive then. The box will have to be shipped to Germany, don´t know if Quaife do this. I just want a "gearbox-partner" I can be confident with, have you lots some experiences on that ??????

Why not consider the semi-helical SPC box approx. £1,200 inc vat and is a little gem. Having said that I wold trust Steve at SPC 100% with either option.

I'd agree with Rob. Talk to Steve about your options. I'm very happy with my semihelical from SPC.

Too late to influence your decision but...

 

Quaife allow their preferred agents, and SPC are one of them, a reasonable discount. Some, like SPC, choose to pass on some of this discount to their customers. So it can often end up cheaper dealing with an agent than dealing direct with Quaife. I think Steve at SPC is a 100% genuine guy who knows loads. I would have no hesitation in dealing thro him.

Thanks Chelspeed, I always to prefer to trade with "small" companies as they offer better customer-service than big companys with a lot of people where no one knows what the other one is doing!
