Delbert Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Well they look like they should undo with an Allen key , but they are round any ideas what tool I need would rather undo tonight if I can rather than wait until tomorrow
Mark w Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 i dont think they undo , are there any fixings around the main pipe entry into the can ? if so undo those and it will separate .
Jonathan Kay Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Do you mean that you can see the remnant of the hex socket, but can't get a key to grip? So you're confident that they unscrew?Jonathan (Crossed with Mark's)
Delbert Posted April 18, 2016 Author Posted April 18, 2016 Well I cannot see another way in does not mean there isn't though
Gloucestershire AR Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 I had a tax disc holder with similar looking fasteners. They used a torx type fitting - quite small - just in the centre of the round bit. Not sure what size but if you have a big Halfords type socket set there may be a few to try.Andy
Delbert Posted April 18, 2016 Author Posted April 18, 2016 and the winner is a 4mm torx excellent - thanks for the pointer - always wondered why they were in my tool box !!
Delbert Posted April 18, 2016 Author Posted April 18, 2016 so whilst the fill was hardly burnt it was absolutely saturated and weighing very heavy , no wonder it was noisy the full was doing nothing except cooling the fumes ? Or is it supposed to be wet ? Anyway at least when re packed I will know what is in there
Simon.Rogers Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 I used to run one of my CiC silencers with a CAT in side. Over all 850mm long but the cat was 300mm.Built a new one out of parts left over without the CAT as no longer needed in Mod Prod.Same length and 184mm diameter. First run so not burnt off the fibre yet to expand fully yet the difference was signifficant.Old @ 7000rpm used to be 98 -101dBYesterday 7000rpm = 93dB Very pleased. For dome reason the Busa's do sound louder but don't trigger the meters as much - has to be a frequency thing.
Delbert Posted April 18, 2016 Author Posted April 18, 2016 Not sure about yesterday's meter I was 94 db - normally I am 104 . Hence the repack for Goodwood tbh now more worried as fill was in tact and hardly charred really hope that the wet nature of the fill was why I made so much noise
Alan Bowler Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Really not sure about Loton meters. New Powerspeed on 1.8K. 5000 rpm. On Saturday I was 101 dB (early morning, f-cold). On Sunday I was 93 dB (mid-morning I think, not so cold)
Jonathan Kay Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 so whilst the fill was hardly burnt it was absolutely saturated and weighing very heavy , no wonder it was noisy the full was doing nothing except cooling the fumes ? Or is it supposed to be wet ?What was it saturated with?Jonathan
Delbert Posted April 19, 2016 Author Posted April 19, 2016 Water , a few absolute drenching on track and the can had no seal As for the Loton noise meter I actually wonder if he was holding it back to front my reading was so low
