Julian H
HiI use the CC CF scuttle mounted rear view mirror. I find it really irritaing that it blocks my view of the nearside front so much. Short of putting in lowered floors to solve the problem is there such a thing as a pillar extension? Nothing listed on CC parts...Thanks
DMorris
a real pain and I have lowered floors and it is still a pain. Have seen an extension on a car but it looks asthetically unpleasing. No idea where you can get one from. I was tempted to lose it and just get by with the sides mirrors or sit on a large cushion. :)
Julian H
Glad to hear its not just me then. I removed it when I did a trackday but am reluctant to do that for road use. Anyone have a solution better than sitting on a large cushion please?
Rattie
Got one direct from SPA UK. Only trouble is the cross bracing of the rollbar now gets in the way of rear view. Swings vs roundabouts? They may do one part way between the two though.Long stem in video... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWpEDRtzpHw
Leadership Team Shortshift Posted August 12, 2015 Leadership Team Share Posted August 12, 2015 Interestingly, I've been in touch with SPA Design today asking the same question. Steve (at SPA) told me that they can make a custom stem or post length without additional charge so long as it is timed to coincide with their normal production batch runs; the next run is timed for first week in September. The normal (short) Caterham aeroscreen post length is 40mm, and the SPA longer alternative is 100mm and costs around £28. I'm thinking of going for a 70mm stem (mid-way between the two 'standard' sizes) and I'll be confirming my order in time to hit SPA's next batch.James
Julian H
Rattiei think id rather have a better view of where I'm going than where I've been, so crossbar or not, it's going higher. I like yours!JamesI really need an extension, not a new pillar. A taller pillar would mean I couldn't fix the screen back on. I wonder if SPA can do something special for me. I will give them a call.cheers, Julian
Leadership Team Shortshift Posted August 13, 2015 Leadership Team Share Posted August 13, 2015 JulianNot sure about your comment about being unable to fix the screen back on; the SPA pillars are only held on with three small fixings and are interchangable - just change between the short one you already have and the longer one as you wish...James

elie boone
A option is to drop the mirror right on to the scuttle with a very short stem.if someone needs a brand new 10mm stem, i have a brand new one FOC
