Rex
While replacing the brake light switch, everything went dead. Nothing at all will work including the lights. I checked all the fuses in the fusebox and could find only one that looked like it was blown. I replaced that but still no juice. Is there some other fuse somewhere else that I may have blown? Jonathan Kay
Do you have a multimeter?Jonathan
Rex
No I don't have one. The Ford garage says I blew a fuse, but whenever that has happened before it has just been one thing that doesn't work. This time there is no one home anywhere.
Jonathan Kay
This is the one I recommend but anything should help. This may be hard without one. While you're getting one I'd start with disconnecting, cleaning and reconnecting your battery connections.Where are you?Jonathan
Rex
I am now thinking the problem may be with the Master switch on the dash. If I move it around a bit and then turn the ignition on I get a very faint ignition light but still no headlights.
Rex
I guess I need to update my Bio. I am in Pennsylvania, USA -- a long way from help!
Jonathan Kay
I haven't got one of those and I always forget about them. It's a good candidate for a single cause. You can fiddle with it and the connections but I'd get that meter.Jonathan
Rex
Thanks, I'm going to have a beer (one) and then I'm going to try your suggestions.
SM25T
Bypass the master switch by connecting the fat cables on it together on the same stud.
