wjblundell
Just picked up a second hand Apollo tank and hoses etc. and have a couple of questions re fitting. Do I need a dowty washer or similar on the magnetic drain plug at the bottom of the tank (it didn't come with one) and are the hoses the same length for a metric chassis installation (on the centre line of the chassis) and an imperial installation (on the alternator side). I will be fitting it to a metric chassis.
SM25T
If the hoses are not right .... take them to a hose supplier and get them to make up new ones at the required lengths. Tell them they are for engine oil at max 120C and max 6 bar.
The_ASH
An ideal opportunity to get custom hoses made and route them so they don't go through the middle of the alternator belt (if your install is on a K series). And in answer to your question, yes I'd fit the plug with a new Dowty seal.
Peter G
If you do have to get new hoses made, make sure they use the right hose material, my first set used thinner walled material, and when bent to a tight radius they kinked. They did make at nmo cost after a bit of a discussion!
