SteveA
I'm doing quite a few track days lately and I'm burning through pads at a fairly decent rate. My car is as per 2014 Avon Supersport Regs so has Mintex 1144 pads on the front and Ferodo DS2500 on the rear.As I'm not racing it this year I'd like to switch to a longer lasting pad. I don't want it to stop any faster as what I have on now is great and I don't want to start relying on the extra stopping power as when I go racing I will go back to regulation pads.Thanks. nickh7
Blimey I 've never been acussed of being a light braker but only had 3 sets of pads in 17 years and green stuff ones I changed before they were dead. I am on Pagids RS14's on Alcon big brakes , they are very good its like when you push the brake pedal
Mankee
I'm also using 1144s, but all round on HiSpec 2-bangers and slicks, and I'm finding that they are nailing through pads like anything. But at £40 an axle, I'm not too fussed. This sounds totally backwards, but I found 1155s to be a harder pad. Up front, one trackday at Brands GP burned as much off the 1144s as two, possibly three, Bedford/Snetterton days on 1155s. I much prefer the 1144s though. I have a good Mintex supplier too, which helps.
SteveA
I recon I'm going through a set every three trackdays which is about every 6 weeks at the moment. I am doing 30 minute stints at a time though. Wondering if the increased heat is causing premature wear.I might try some 1155's but it's finding something to use on the rear that will also last.
