craigyb
Just got my new R400, and previous car had a foam strim, similar to what is on the nose cone, all around the engine bay to sit between the bonnet and the car. New car doesn't have this. Would it be wise to get some installed?
revilla
I would - I would expect it will rub the paint badly without.
Area Representative Paul Richards Posted April 29, 2015 Area Representative Share Posted April 29, 2015 I would install some on the edge of the bonnet. Looks neater than on the chassis and also protects the bonnet if you put it down flat on the floor.

NedK
I used sticky neoprene tape. Sticks like the proverbial to a blanket.
John Vine
I used sticky neoprene tapeMe too. I got mine from the Camthorne shop on ebay. They do 5m and 10m rolls in a variety of widths and thicknesses.JV

LouisFeakes
Good advice everyone.Mine has the strip on the nose and the body at the wipers end (not sure what that's officially called) but not the othe two sides.I assume everyone is going for the 3mm?Any issues with fastening the bonnet clips?Cheers,Louis
SM25T
I use black electrical insulating tape along the length of the bonnet sides. .... makes the bonnet catches lock more securely, and helps stop scratches from grit between the faces.
Steve_K
3mm is the smallest I could find but it makes the bonnet stand proud a bit at the front. After sticking down I used a sharp knife to taper the first few inches down. It's still a bit proud but less so.Steve
