Red Line Components
I have 15" rims with the appropriate cycle wings and will be changing to 13" rims... is it necessary to change the cycle wings or can the stays be 'adjusted' ?
Powderpuff
Be lazy like me and leave the bigger wings on, they may look slightly large but at least they protect the rear wings a bit better smile.gif
Red Line Components
Cool. That's what I hope to do as long as it doesn't look too daft.
Powderpuff
Depends on your definition of daft teeth.gif I don't think they look too bad, plus I can put my 16" rims back on if I need the extra ground clearance!
Rob Walker
I have run with the 13" wheels under the 15" cycle wings for two years. They do look a bit big but as Gordon says you do get much greater protection of the sides of the car and rear arches. I recently fitted the correct 13" cycle wings and SLR stays in the belief that I would notice some aerodynamic improvement, all I have noticed is the rapid loss of rear wing paintwork. Plus a hole in my wallet.
Red Line Components
Righty ho, slightly daft but sensible in the wallet and chips departments. Anyone got any mint 13" for a 99 1.8k ssport, or do I have to buy new.
Steve W
I've just done the same thing gone from 16'' down to 13''. The wing stays look fine not worth changing.
Rob Walker
I would recomend you buy new, you will see ads for a set of 4 X 13"X 6" Minators for around £250 with worn out tyres. You can buy new rims from Caterham for £67 each. Its your choice.
