David Miller
Pont Mathilde in Rouen had a huge tanker fire which melted the main span in October 2012. The bridge is scheduled to re-open in August/September this year. This is the bridge which would normally be the bridge to use if you were coming down the A28 and heading for Le Mans. To avoid the diversion in Rouen, stay on the A29 and exit junction 9 for Yvetot and follow signs for 'Pont de Brotonne'. This will bring you out at the A13/A28 junction. 6speedmanual
When near Rouen, visit the ancient Rouen Les Essarts F1 motor racing circuit. Although a bit chopped about the downhill into Virage du Monde, good granndstand terracing and the up hill bends back up towards Rouen are still fabulous and evocative.
