abbot
This is truly disgraceful. Saurez bites Italian player Happened to catch this on the box tonight. Not only was it as clear as day that he bit him he then pretended he had been elbowed. Life ban I say

Nifty
There is no excuse for this at all - however, Chiellini is a cheat himself, constantly feigning injury and endeavouring to gain undue advantage, so (unsportsman like) I have little sympathy for his plight. leon
Well anger management clearly hasn't worked so the last call before a lifetime ban should perhaps be a 20 match ban and a muzzle for life! Would probably make post match interviews more amusing if nothing else.
oldbutnotslow
I believe if this were a golfer a swimmer or lets say a cyclists he would be in a metal hospital. So i lose a match on the 18th green and in stead of shaking hands I bite a lump out of him I would be expelled from the club. children are said to go through a biting stage thankfully mine did not perhaps allowing the person that has been bitten to bit a lump out of him may make him think twice about doing it again. 2 year ban if FIFA find him guilty
Area Representative Kingsley Young Posted June 25, 2014 Area Representative Share Posted June 25, 2014 Dogs would be made to wear a muzzle!! Make him wear a mouth guard. No second thoughts ban the B•••••d for life 🤔

Wile7
Unbelievable. If he did that on the street (3 times...) he'd be in prison. Fantastic footballer but sadly a screw loose. Life ban. He does not learn. He does not heed advice. The example he sets is totally wrong. Goodbye.

The trouble is if you'll excuse the pun FIFA is toothless and very poorly run so I'd be very surprised if he got anything more than a ban for a certain period rather than life one. Delbert
Funny though when he said to his coach he said he fancied an Italian they went out and bought pasta Got that wrong then Apparently even an international FIFA ban will not atop him playing for Liverpool in Premiership
TobyCoulson
The Uruguay coach claimed it is a conspiracy led by British media and we should remember that England won the World Cup with a ball which was not a goal. I don't remember Sir Bobby Moore nibbling the opposition though. 😬
Jonathan Kay
There was an excellent recent radio programme on law and sport, describing why "on the field decisions" need to be protected, and how the Court of Arbitration for Sport works. It may be available as a podcast, probably BBC "Law in Action". I think that cases like this should go to criminal prosecution as well as through internal disciplinary procedures. There's no consent to being bitten. (I care more about illegal force in rugby but it's the same issue.) Jonathan
Steve Campbell
The guy needs serious psychological help. There is no doubt that he is one of the worlds best when it comes to his profession...but that's his 3rd time for the same offence. I believe FIFA can only impart International sanctions (playing for his country). I'm a Liverpool supporter...but if I was running the club I'd be looking at 10+ match ban....and looking closely at the possibility of breach of contract and getting rid, no matter how good he is (problem is....how many companies would write off one of their most valuable assets ?). I actually feel sorry for the guy...some screw loose somewhere.

k8rum
Anger management, psychological help etc. are all a waste of time with this bloke. Fining him also won't work unless it was a huge amount ( couple of million upwards would be a good start) & use the money for dental help for a third world country. Best to ban him for a very long time - it is the only thing that will get to him. Also it means those defending his actions also suffer. And whilst banning him - ban the ref & send him home for doing nothing.

It seems to me that attempting to cheat and gain an undue advantage by feigning injury is widespread in football. Doesn't set a very good moral example to impressionable youngsters (and some adults for that matter) ☹️
