Mavic82
So as some may have figured out I have been faffing around with wheels recently and will shortly be fitting some 15" split rims. In the interim I thought I would liven up my beloved HPC wheels in a Caterham F1 esq style. Probably Marmite but I thought they turned out well, so incase anyone else thinks of doing something other than silver/ anthracite/ black here you go........... Lotus Boy
I can't see anything. No piccie. Oh and did you find some suitable split rim 15"'s? Cheers David
AdeC
What about the spare
Mavic82
Yes having some custom 15" split rims made at the moment. I know the spare does not match, I have another painted rim but the tyre is scrap, if they stay on for a while I will swap them over, for now I wanted to see how it looked. DJ.
Not sure about that, I think yellow all over might have been better. Well done for doing something different though Duncan
Mankee
Apart from the actual size of the wheels, I quite like them! I have no idea how to hot-link using Flickr, but here's a "normal" link to your photo: https://www.flickr.com/photos/46090489@N07/14480788134/lightbox/

Pete Underhill
I'd not seen that done on a Seven before spotting this one at CC Mids. Was it difficult/fiddly to mask etc.?
Mavic82
Thanks for the feedback, good and bad. I realise it won't be everyone's taste. It was quite easy to do, just gave them to CJ Tallis in Hinckley and they came back magically done! 😬 The green I understand is a pain to paint, a little like a candy apple, the yellow is a straight colour and there is a slight lip on the wheel that was used to mask up to with lining tape. So all in all not to bad I don't think. I left the tyres on just broke the bead on both sides and took the valves out so the full rim lip could be painted. Jonathan Kay
Colours go well together but in the rear quarter view the yellow looks a bit isolated. Where else could it be used: spare wheel, roll bar, some other bit of detailing... ? Please could we have a front quarter view? Jonathan
AntonyH
Very nice! I don't personally like that pattern of wheel normally (too much silver slab for my liking), but they really work well in those colours.
