Wile7
Have had to go to A&E this evening as my good lady is not well ☹️ As you can see, now bored so on Blatchat 😬 I have been to a few in the past but never had to pay for parking....did I think to bring any bloody change? Three pounds for two hours.... There. Thats off my chest now. I haven't paid. If I get a ticket I'll leave the banger there - they can keep it 😬
Delbert
1) more importantly is the Old Bint ok ? 2) in some UK hospitals the fees subsidise the Hospital so not necessarily a profiteering scum clamper
Guest
I think most Scottish and Welsh hospitals scrapped the charge. Excuse for a drive?... But I don't think you'll be married for long. Do they do the pay by mobile thingy? I really hated it when they introduced it round my way, but having used it all over London it is simple and quick? Even reminds you when it's running out and I think you can top up. BTW, hope your good lady gets well.

Wile7
😬 It's been a long night..... but all the tests and things have proved inconclusive so awaiting ultrasound and specialist to offer yet more advice. Ho hum. The 'other' bad thing is that because I left in a rush last night I did not cover the seven up and by all accounts we had the most amazing thunderstorm at about 3.00am. My daughter has told me my car is a bit sodden. Not good. ☹️ The flip side is that I have been able to answer all those questions on that bloody Regalia stuff 😬 Life goes on.... Graham Perry
Sorry to hear about the other half Wile ☹️ When I was was admitted to hospital a couple of years ago, I drove to A&E as I wasn't feeling well and parked in their car park. The Doctor said 'we need to admit you sorry'. My car sat in their car park for 10 days until they let me out again. I enquired how I could pay the £100 parking fee and they said that they hadn't got a way to do that and the overstay fines would be inappropriate given that I wasn't to know that they would keep me in, so they wrote off the charge 😶🌫️ When my mother was seriously ill at a different hospital the ward Sister gave me something to put in the windscreen that basically exempted me from the parking so that I didn't have to keep popping out every couple of hours to feed the meter. I think we were beside her bed for nearly three days, so it was one less thing to worry about. Area Representative z7 Posted June 14, 2014 Area Representative Share Posted June 14, 2014 Hope everything turns out OK, Dave. At my (no longer local) hospital the car park operates (pun not intended ) 24x7, including Sundays and Bank Holidays. However, the health care is only Mon-Fri 8.00-18.00 ish ❗ Out of hours they just try to tide you over. z7

Area Representative z7 Posted June 14, 2014 Area Representative Share Posted June 14, 2014 If being treated by a consultant and his/her team, they only work "office hours", i.e. if you need them during the night or at the weekend, they're not there. BM me if you'd like more detail, my other thoughts and opinion (based on experience). Happy to chat.
Wile7
Thank you for the supportive words chaps - Mrs Wile is home now and although we are not really any wiser she is in a much better state of mind (and no pain). Still no clue as to what it is....roll on the ultrasound. Oh, and I had six hours of non paid parking fees but no ticket

eagle
Dave, glad to hear she's home and feeling better. Hope it gets sorted out though. Ian, I wonder if you could pretend to get a ticket from the machine to avoid that. I doubt they'd cross reference tickets purchased with cars unless they have an ANPR type of system (which I also doubt).

Steve-B
Great to hear she's OK and nothing dire happened. Mrs. B's son was in Hillingdon hospital for almost 3 weeks. By the end when I ran up the tally for a totally unsafe, marginally lit, full of litter & potholes she'd spent d4mn near £100 for parking. That to say the least is ROBBERY, brought to you by Hunt. I often think wonder what Jermey Hunts' middle initial must be. I suspect it is a C Edited by - Steve-B on 23 Aug 2014 13:04:

Steve-B
Both wales and Scotland ended the ripoff double taxation 2-5+ years ago yet NHS UK continues to allow it as a stealth tax, on top of our NII tax. Taxing/penalising the staff should be criminal as so many staff barely make a decent living something we as a society want yo do yo our caregivers? Is parking really such a big problem in England that people would prefer use an NHS car park? Ps> edited for accuracy as JK pointed out my typo..
