Britain's whale hunters: The untold story.

I thought it was one of the best things on telly last week. *thumbup* Much more interesting than I thought it would be. While I knew they were large operations I didn't realise that the whaling stations were that large and that they had just been abandoned like that and are now somewhat frayed around the edges time capsules.

There are some very good websites I stumbled on a couple of years ago about the whaling stations that are now abandoned at the ends of the earth. Some still complete with new equipment for the ships still on the store shelves, together with raw materials, steel etc for repairs.

 

On one island, a couple still lived and ran a museum, the only visits being cruise ships.
