ECR
If your jockey wheel is getting hard to jack up it may be that the thrust bearing has collapsed (mine had). It appears that the bearing is not listed as a spare and that you are obliged to buy a new unit complete. On my Sprint Shuttle it was a simple job to remove the handle (knock out the roll pin) and free the screw with the remains of the old bearing. A new bearing (mine was 17mm bore x 30mm o/d x 9mm thick) is available for the princely sum of £1.17 (EBay) and just slips over the shaft. A job well worth doing before next season. paul jacobs
Roger, you are 6 months too late for me. My wifes' horse trailer was getting more and more difficult to jack up, and yes she did ask me for advice, but as it was her horse trailer and not my car trailer, I foolishly suggested she take it to the local Ivor Williams dealer, who sold her a complete brand new jockey wheel unit. I beleive it was around £35, so not a fortune, but just think of the browney points I would have garnered if I bothered to look at it properly?
