evotell
Having read all the horror stories about the dif install we approached the evening task with, a beer. We lifted it up on the jack, the bolts went straight in, 3 shims and it's within 2 mm. If it hadn't been for the cock up we made about the hand brake cable location it would have been in within 30 minutes. 😬 😬 😬
Martin J
Well done. The operative word is "we" It is much more of a fiddle when working on your own! There was no way I was going to get Mrs.J under the car fitting bolts while I bench pressed the diff into location. I remember thinking once it was in place & nicely centred that I don't want to be removing that for several years!

evotell
Slight tap with a panel hammer. No doubt 2 of us and the jack made all the difference. We also did it slightly different from the manual. We put both bottom bolts in fist including the shims, and let it hang down then lifted it up shims ready the top bolt when straight in. 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬
