Caterham AP Caliper Weight without pads

Dear All,

 

Does anyone know the weight of the Caterham AP calipers without brake pads?

 

All i can find on blatchat is the weight including the pads.

This is what I have: (MK1 Caterham AP caliper)

 

4 pot AP calliper weighs 1800gms

4pot mintex pads weigh 500gms

2 pot iron girling original calliper weighs 3200gms

2 pot pads and pins etc weigh 370gms

2 pot disk weighs 2.5kilo - 9.125" dia

4 pot disk weighs 3.560kilo - 10" dia

Hi spec ultralight 4's with standard triumph disks work well for me, at a saving of something like 2kg per caliper

Same as Richard for me, except I have Ultralite 2s all round on standard sized discs. Over 7kgs saved in total! Haven't tried out the rears yet as I've only just fitted them, but the fronts have been standing up well to track abuse and I've not had caliper body flexing problems that users have previously reported.

Do you have a handbrake with the rears or not both as the car's track only?

You're right; my rears have no handbrake mechs. But Hi Spec make a version with handbrake that doesn't weigh that much more:
