thanks elanfan.before i bought my super sprint i drove a ex race k series and the steering was very quick but seemed no problem.the supplier of the quick rack suggest race car on slicks for the 22% and road and track day for the 8%.sounds like the 22% is the one to go for.

Quoting myothercarsa2cv:
You might well have the 8% already...

As it's an old Supersprint it's fairly likely that he has the old (I think) mini rack which was standard at the time and this will be the now defunct 0%.

I went from one of these to a 22% rack and found the handing/response etc to be much improved, however, if you search the archives there are plenty who think the 22% is too twitchy for the roads. Each to their own ......

I've had 2 Caterhams and both came with 22% racks, in fact since I bought my first in 1998 I don't think I'd ever driven one with any other steering rack .... until I swapped to an 8% early last year. For road use it's transformed the car, far more positive and directional on the variety of surfaces that are part and parcel of everyday driving, situations where with a 22% I know I'd be fighting the car a lot more. On track it's definitely not as precise but my driving is 90% plus on road so it's probably perfect now.
