OliW
Hi folks, I have taken my front Bilsteins off tonight to be replaced. The lower eye sleeve comes out without any difficulty on both shocks but the top ones won't shift at all. Do they even come out? I have sprayed with penetrating fluid but don't know whether to expect them to come loose or not. Cheers, Oli Edited by - oliw on 20 Jan 2014 23:27:
Simon.Rogers1
Hi Oli. Yes they do. More oil! May be a little heat not too much!
Mark Durrant
Oli Why do you need to remove them and assume you are using penetrating oil?
elan_fan
The aluminium sleeve comes out easily, and the bushes are pushed out using a press. Edited by - elan_fan on 21 Jan 2014 09:26:
Simon.Rogers1
He is removing them as he is trying to fit nice new shiny ones (dampers that is) 😬
Mark Durrant
I would call Mick at Redline and buy a couple of new ones to fit to his new shiny dampers
OliW
Thanks guys. I think I will go down the new route actually. Makes sense given the cost. Mark - as Simon suggested, I'm putting some Nitrons on. Cheers, Oli
