Knew I forgot something...

In the process of fitting an apollo, and drilled the cam cover to fit the breather pipe. All seemed to go well, drilled the hole, fitted the union, nipped up the nuts and popped the cover back on. Something was nagging me and so I went back to the archives... I forgot threadlock! Damnit. New crush washers ordered and I'll have another go... *rolleyes*

I also saw in one of the posts that metric chassis' require a slightly different installation, I assumed it would be the same. Hope so, because I don't want to have to move the header tank! I'll make it fit *wink*

I was taking the wiper mech out... And it was a pain trying to extract if from underneath... So I thought I'd take the scuttle off and redo it with rivnuts... Now I'm thinking of getting some carbon sheet to replace the bulkhead. Am I stupid? *tongue* The Apollo is something that I've been meaning to do for ages, the oil pressure is fine and has been for a while so I need to meddle!

Hi John

The Metric installation is different. I remember the pipes were routed slightly differently and the tank sits centrally just behind the central cross member. The expansion tank (the spherical one) also needed moving from the central position. I made up an ally plate with a hole in the middle to take the drain plug and riveted it to the bottom central frame rather than what CC suggested.

Also the breather pipe enters the cam cover on the off side when the tank is fitted this way.

2 Pictures from the CC Workshop Notice and bottom one is my installation of the tank.
