jjsanz
2004 Caterham RoadSport S3, 1.8 K-Series, Wet Sump, Green Having purchased an Apollo kit from Caterham , I now have to fit it! I've trawled through the BlatChat archives and have enough information on how to fit the tank, route the pipe work, fit the sandwich plate, file off bits of engine block, fill with oil, starting procedures etc. etc. What’s missing for me is how to connect between the tank and the sandwich plate, that is, which pipe goes where? I know the long pipe joins the top of the tank and short one goes to the bottom, but which pipe goes where on the sandwich plate? Can anyone shine some light? Thanks in advance! Dave B
Cant answer all of your questions but both hoses go in between the alternator drive belt, remember to tie a spare belt in position while you do the work as it will be a PITA if you need to change belt on a dark wet night in the middle of nowhere if you dont do this. myothercarsa2cv
I'm about to fit one as well... And the build manual (here) doesn't say! The picture looks like they've put the top hose on the outlet closest to the engine though? Thing I'm most worried about is drilling the cam cover
John Vine
At the sandwich plate, the longer pipe (from the top of the tank) goes next to the engine block. Angus & Tessa did a handy write-up here. And when I fitted my own Apollo way back in 2001, I wrote this article for LF, which may be of use to you. jjsanz
Thanks for the feedback. I have the article printed out ready and have read The Angus and Tessa write up. It was just knowing how the pipes attach to the tank from the sandwich plate.
