Aidan Parte
Having recently acquired a pair of 40DCOEs, a bonnet and now manifold and spacers, O-rings, etc., I am a bit mystified as to how the whole lot goes together. It seems fairly straitforward, but I don't know what to do with the rubber anti-vibration grommets, and it seems that the throttle linkage will foul the manifold. Help!! Has anyone got an exploded diagram of how it all goes together (fax no. 0118 988 1834) or could you post something here? Thanks Aidan Parte aidan.parte@virgin.net
Roger King
Broadly speaking, it goes like this:- Fit studs to manifold with loctite. Large diameter 'O' rings onto studs. Carbs onto studs. Rubber grommet assembly onto studs. Nylocs onto studs and tightened so that there is approx 10mm of up and down movement at the ram pipe end of the carbs. BUT There are several different types of manifold, 'O' rings, stud threads and lengths, rubber grommets and linkages. It is therefore impossible to give an exact description of the procedure without knowing more (with my artistic ability it is also impossible to do a drawing). If you give me a ring on 01992 421111 I can go through it with you.
Aidan Parte
Roger Thanks for your help, it was most useful. I had the wrong type of throttle linkage(I bought the carbs secondhand off a Zetec)and have ordered new bits from Redline. Cheers
