Edzup Ezzer
Excuse me if this has already been asked and replied to in Blatchat but I'm a little unclear what the best route is. My 1.6 Supersport has 195/50R15 Michelin Pilots fitted. I have read with interest all the views on various Yokos etc but from my investigations at Demon Tweeks etc, none of the Yokos seem to be available in this size. Is this correct and if so, what tyres would work well as replacements for the Michelins?
spiderman
Why not try the Avon CR500? They were developed as a 13-incher for the R500, but they're now available as a 15 too.
Alex Wong1697456877
Is this true? I thought they were in 13inch only. How about 14inch? Roger Green
It is true. No 14-incher yet - there's more demand for a 15. Apparently there are people with other types of cars with odd tin tops and doors who also want them. The two sizes available are 175/50 R15 and 195/45 R15. I don't have prices, but Avon's number is 01225 703101. Good news for you prisoner boys and girls.
Red SLR
I rang Avon as I am interested in some new tyres myself. They said that htey dont sell the CR500. Is there another name for it? Simon. X777CAT
Edzup Ezzer
I say chaps, nobody has come up with a replacement 195/50R15 sized tyre yet. Does this really mean that there isn't a good 'size for size' alternative?
mark.hall
I use 195/50/15 Yoko A520's. Not the grippiest tyre in the world compared to 021's or 032's etc, but not too bad either. IMO they are better than the Michelins, and may well be cheaper. They will last a reasonable time even with some very spirited driving. I also believe that Yokohama have a replacement tyre for the 520. I don't know its designation for sure, but I think it's a 532.
