Pierre Gillet
I placed an order to Caterham in June for bits and pieces (including a windscreen assembly) and two black plastic frames for the leather seats of my '97 Seven. I did this because Oxtred Trimming was not allowed by Caterham to supply these plastic frames directly to me because of their IP rights. I understand the reason but the result is that I am still waiting ! Anyone with similar experience? Pierre
CHRIS CLARK
Pierre, You failed to mention which year you placed the order!!! I don't think 'Oxted Trimmers' are that slow so maybe a call to Darren or Tony at the parts dept. is in order. Good luck!
Pierre Gillet
I agree Chris, I should have been a little bit more pressing! Cheers, Pierre
Mike Biddle
Pierre, I had a problem with my leather seat recently, the glue that holds the leather to the plastic panel at the back of the seat failed, and the plastic broke. The high temperatures and humidity here certainly contributed to the failiure but all the same I think that the design leaves something to be desired. I solved the problem by getting an upholsterer to remove the cover, sow in a leather rear panel and reassemble. The result was excellent, and I don't think it will break so easily again. Rgards. Mike Biddle
Pierre, cost to sew in a leather panel was UAE Dirhams 350.00, which is around FF 750.00. Having said that, labour is very cheap here and I doubt you could achieve the same price in Europe. Regards.
