Mort Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Morning all. I've just fitted a replacement ring contact for a horn mounted in the centre of the steering wheel (see here for photo to put it in context), and found that the spec has changed. The original ring contact on my 2005 K has a collar length of 10mm, but the replacements supplied by Caterham have a collar length of 20mm - presumably that is standard on later cars. Just thought I'd give the heads-up so that anyone planning on doing this can factor in the cutting-down of the collar, which makes a simple job less so. In case anyone is wondering, I've just fitted the replacement ring contact for expediency due to a forthcoming MOT, and will eventually be relocating the horn to the dash as planned. myothercarsa2cv Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Any reason you can just slide the upper column up 10mm? Probably enough adjustment in the middle join?
