Looking to replace my front discs soon and considering cross drilled or grooved to dissipate brake fade. I've had cross drilled discs on other cars and found them to be a massive improvement over stock vented discs (Except BMW! 😬)

Anyone got any advice/ tried it with a Seven? Does it mess up the brake balance? Don't see many around! *confused*

Not sure what brand the pads are, to be honest. I'm still using the same ones that were already in place when I bought the car; they've bags of life left in them. Recommend any good replacements?

The brake fluid is all fresh; I overhauled the brake callipers just before the last MOT and so flushed the system through. I'm not getting any significant brake fade; no more than any standard road going car, I'm just looking at options when I replace consumables! *smile*

I've had the EBC dimpled and grooved discs on my 7 for 7 years and 30,000 miles and now they need replacing but I'll be replacing them with the standard discs as I honestly don't think they made that much difference really.

More than a few seveners seems happy with the Mintex 1144 pads. Work well enough for me touring, trackdays and sprinting. Plenty of info on them if you search the archives.

I run the 1144 on my standard discs and it stops my 1.8ss (with some DVA pixie dust) at @155BHP quite comfortably. Toured Italy and France over the Alps with no probs or nervousness - or is that just my 'Driving Miss daisy' driving stlye - who knows. *wavey*

Mintex 1144 fornt and standard rear seems to be standard before you go to other options.

Never had brake fade with them ? Could be me though.

There are people racing with that setup without getting brake fade.

I've got a more aggressive setup (and more expensive *rolleyes*) but they don't work from cold so you wouldn't want this for the road.
