MBE 912 ECU - Programmable or not?

The 912 stores its program and maps on an eprom which is a physical memory chip. Remapping is laborious and I doubt that anyone would be able to do anything with it now as it requires special hardware to reprogram the chip which has to be removed from the ECU and plugged into an eprom programmer.

They were obsolete by the mid/late '90s. I had one from SBD in about '96 and have three new generations since - 956, 967 and now 9A4. As far as I know mine was still doing service as a 3D mapped ignition unit until about a year ago. If you ask SBD or Steve Greenald, be prepared for a lot of laughter 😬
