StewartG
Examination of my front 32Rs after the Cadwell track day showed the centre and outside to be more frazzled than the inside. Is this the inevitable consequence of the outside doing more work turning the car or is it an indicator of some difficiency in front suspension geometry. I am running 1.5 degrees -ve camber and straight ahead, the tyres wear evenly on the road but maybe track driving requires more -ve camber to offset the extra forces causing the tyres to roll off of the wheels more. Any ideas?
Peter Carmichael
Stewart, Tyre wear is usually a pretty bad indicator for getting tyres to work on the track, except for the symptoms you describe here. Comparing to what you have seen on the road is the important bit. Your assumption about needing more negative camber is correct. You will get better grip, but the tyres will wear unevenly on the road.
