It's hardly a big deal, a decent set of AF spanners and sockets is only a few quid. While you are at it, get a box of mixed UNF fasteners so that when you have a rusty or lost nut and bolt you don't tear your hair out, you just replace it.

I always use Metric tools on my imperial car all the time- The only imperial tool i have is a 3/8" hex bit for the upper front damper mounting.

Good luck with the lower damper mount bolt when you need to change a damper then *tongue* *wink*

Not a huge deal agreed but a shame when I have lots and lots of decent metric stuff neatly set out in my roller cabs! No room for another set os spanners x 2 and sockets

Good excuse for another toolchest I guess!

Thanks

I'm in Leeds, so if you ever get stuck for imperial tools or fastenings give me a call. I have tools to cobble dogs even if they are hidden in a loft. (Long story). I know which end of a spanner to hold too.

Quoting CharlesElliott:
Fixings are metric on a metric chassis (that's really what a 'metric' chassis is), imperial on imperial.

Well, apart from the imperial fixings that are on the metric chassis, anyway!

The one that springs to mind is the engine mount to engine rubber, which is an imperial allen key job ...
