TonyB
I am restoring a 1963 S7 Series 2 Cosworth 1500 and am at the stage of making/installing brake pipes. Can anybody tell me what the correct torque for tightening up all the brake pipes is?
R2D2
I think tightening brake pipe unions to torque settings might be difficult. if the flares on the brake pipe tubes are not perfect a fixed torque might not form the correct seal and the joint may leak. I think it is more a case of feel and experience rather than torque.
captain chaos
I would agree with Chris. I've had the pleasure of making up lots of brake lines in the past and alot of it is down to feel if you are not using a fancy work shop flare tool. Also, when doing the external front lines make sure there are no strands of steel trapped in the joint. good luck

mike ashurst
I'm in the process of fitting new wingstays to my 96 dedion. as I have to remove brake pipes to do the job I'll bear the advice in mind, particularly "FT" :-) Bye the way, do you have to use the Caterham "Easybleed" tool?
