LesG Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Hiyas, bit of a numpty question; can someone please tell me the hose connections/routing please? I think they should be; bottom of sump outlet (next to bellhousing) to rear of external pump (in cradle); top of external pump to bellhousing tower? If this is correct, then what do I do with the outlet at the forward end of the sump? Also, is there any reason I shouldn't utilise the manual belt tensioner set-up I have (it all looks very new/unused), or would I be better to get the automatic version? Cheers, Les.
MADMALC Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Braided hose top of pump goes to top of bell housing. Braided hose goes from bottom of bell housing to front of sump. Rubber hose goes from lower (inlet) on pump to rear of sump. Oil is taken from the sump by the external pump via the rubber hose and then sent to top of bell housing via braded hose and then the internal pump pulls it from the bottom of the bell housing by the braided hose that goes into the front of the sump. Hope this helps as I am in the garage looking at it and it is cold. I have the manual adjuster but I am sure the auto adjust makes changing the belt easier. Why spend money when what you have will do the job.
LesG Posted March 11, 2011 Author Posted March 11, 2011 Haha! And there's me watching Benidorm! Thanks for that Malc, I only got one piece of braided hose with the parts I bought, and now I need to get the other hoses made up. The system makes sense now, cheers! Les.
