Hi Guys

 

I'm sure most of you will get the MSA newsletter but here is the one bit of information hidden away which may affect some people (although I don't recall anyone with this brand of kit)

 

Impact Racing Helmets &

Overalls

Certain helmets and overalls

manufactured by Impact Racing have

had their FIA standard approvals

withdrawn with immediate effect for

safety reasons. Use of these items

is therefore prohibited in cases that

require compliance with the relevant

Helmets

 

For safety reasons, please note that the following helmets, whatever the validity deadline, are withdrawn from Technical List 41, part 2, “LIST OF HELMETS COMPATIBLE WITH FIA-APPROVED FRONTAL HEAD RESTRAINT (FHR) SYSTEMS” with immediate effect:

 

Manufacturer: Impact Racing LLC

 

Models: Draft, Vapor

 

These helmets can no longer be considered as complying neither with FIA standard 8858-2002 nor with FIA standard 8858-2010. As a consequence, use of these helmets is prohibited in all cases in which compliance with the above-mentioned standards is mandatory.

 

Clothing

 

For safety reasons, please note that the following clothing, whatever the validity deadline, are withdrawn from Technical List 27 “PROTECTIVE CLOTHING FOR AUTOMOBILE DRIVERS HOMOLOGATED” with immediate effect:

Homologation Number:RS.096.05

 

Commercial name: S-2

 

These racing suits can no longer be considered as complying with FIA standard 8856-2000. As a consequence, use of these racing suits is prohibited in all cases in which compliance with the above-mentioned standard is mandatory.

 

 

Luckily i've got a Impact Supersport helmet so not affected.
