Changing EU2 to EU3 Engine

A bit of help is required please, I am in the process of fitting a new engine to my car, it was an EU2, the new engine is an EU3 which fortunately came with wiring loom as well. However I understand that there could be an issue with the rev counter reading incorrectly or low, is this the case and is there a fix for it. I would like to get all the bits bought so come the weekend I can hopefully fit it without rushing around for parts, any help or pointers would be appreciated.

Don't think you need any extra parts for the rev counter, you just need to fiddle with the dipswitches on the back of the unit.

Just to clarify....do you have an EU2 car at present, to which you are adding an EU3 engine and loom, or the other way around?

Sorry to clear it up my car is an EU2 I am putting an EU3 engine in, it is a 1999 roadsport previously 1600 supersport engine if that makes a difference.
