Jason Plato Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 am I right in recalling that the center sections are torqued to 5 to 8lb ?
Area Representative bluenose Posted March 4, 2011 Area Representative Posted March 4, 2011 18nm I think
Adrian Williams Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Sounds spot on Dave. When I witnessed him building wheels there was no torque wrench to be seen Whenever I've done it they've always been 'nipped plus a bit' if you know what I mean any more than 5-8 ft lbs I reckon they'd just keep stretching until they went. Adrian
Jason Plato Posted March 4, 2011 Author Posted March 4, 2011 As i recalled its more of a hmmm than an huufgg, although a uurrghh would snap the bolt
Adrian Williams Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Half way between a hmmm and a hmmmm to be precise 😬 Adrian
Kevsta Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Andy - that is a precise torque but only for the size of the balls of the person doing the torquing! That would be some serious torque if I were doing it up to lift one half way! 😬
