Hi All,

I have just noticed a leak in the top heater hose. Its a straight bit of hose with 5/8" written on the side and held by 2 jubilee clips so I am thinking that I can take care of this repair on my own without a responsible adult present (I have a swiss army knife).

But I have read about problems with airlocks so I was wondering if there is a bleed valve that I could fit at the same time? Given that the hose is at the top of the coolant system this would seem to make sense?

Can anyone help out with a few tips/ link to the correct bleed valve?

Thanks for reading

I have some Tee pieces left if you want one, blatmail me with an address and I'll post you one. £5 inc postage. You'll need a couple of hose clips to suit the top hose size ( same as the ones that are on the heater hose end now )

Dignity, hi.

When you replace the heater hose give it a bit of extra length so you can pull the tee piece higher than the engine so it's the highest part of the system to make the bleeding job easier - 'simples' *smile*

Just use a clean jug with a narrow spout to top up the system from there as well.
